      The FCE College Scholarship Program

A student whose family is in the highest income bracket is 5 times more likely to receive a bachelor’s degree by age 24 than a student from the lowest income bracket. Additionally, institutional budget cuts have limited the resources available for financial aid and many schools are unable to meet the demonstrated financial need of low income students. Studies have shown that college students with high financial need must undertake extraordinary efforts to compensate, including living off-campus, working long hours while in school, and incurring considerable debt. All these measures can detract from the college experience and threaten degree completion.

FCE has developed a college scholarship program to address these financial aid issues for our students. FCE scholarships serve as sustainability grants for our college students and hence, play a key role in retention. FCE awards:

  • 6-8 scholarships annually ranging from $2,500 to $5,000
  • Financial support to cover additional expenses such as books, fees, travel home, etc.

While the FCE Scholarship program is available to FCE students, there are many other college scholarship resources available. Please refer to your high school college counselors' or financial aid offices. Our college resources page will have more information as well.
